About the company

Bloom Energy

Bloom Energy is an American public company that designs and manufactures solid oxide fuel cells which independently produce electricity onsite for power generation in data centers, manufacturing, and other commercial sectors. It was founded in 2001 and headquartered in San Jose, California; its fuel cell technology generates electricity through a chemical conversion process, which differs from most other power sources reliant on combustion, and can use natural gas, biogas or hydrogen as fuel. Its SOFCs are deployed on-site where energy is consumed, reducing reliance on central power grid. Bloom also developed electrolyzers for hydrogen production, and holds more than 1000 patents globally. The company raised more than $1 billion in venture capital funding before going public in 2018, and has received significant government incentives that promote clean energy. By 2025, the company had installed about 1.4 gigawatts of Bloom Energy Server systems at over 1,000 locations across nine countries, and developed low-emission, always-on, near zero-carbon green energy and carbon capture technologies for high-energy consumption industries.

Market action

A concise summary of the latest filing, transaction, or market-moving item.

Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE: BE) filed a Form 8-K on July 9, 2026, issuing a Regulation FD response to a July 8, 2026 report published by Hunterbrook Media LLC. The company said Hunterbrook has disclosed that it may hold positions that would profit from a decline in Bloom Energy’s stock price, and Bloom used the filing to publicly reject the report’s allegations. Bloom Energy “categorically” denied the report’s claims about the company’s financial results and accounting, calling them “false and misleading.” The company said it stands behind the accuracy and integrity of its audited financial statements and financial reporting, and directed investors to its most recent annual and quarterly filings for its official disclosures. The company also addressed the report’s claims regarding scandium oxide, a material used in Bloom’s fuel cells. Bloom rejected the report’s conclusions and said it has sufficient scandium oxide supply to meet current fuel-cell demand and backlog. The company further stated that its supply is not dependent on China and that it is not dependent on China to scale scandium oxide availability for future demand growth. Bloom added that it has “clear visibility” into its supply chain to support production of 25 gigawatts of fuel cells per year and said it will continue expanding that capacity. The filing also pointed investors to a company blog post titled “Demystifying Scandium Oxide: Why It Matters in Bloom Fuel Cells” for additional discussion of the material and its role in Bloom’s technology. The 8-K did not report an insider transaction, securities issuance, share sale, option grant, acquisition, executive change, or financial restatement. Instead, it served as a public rebuttal under Item 7.01, Regulation FD Disclosure, aimed at responding to market-facing allegations that could affect investor perception of Bloom Energy’s accounting and supply-chain resilience. The filing was signed on July 9, 2026, by Shawn Soderberg, Bloom Energy’s Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary.
