Coincheck Group N.V. reported a monthly operating update for its Japanese crypto exchange subsidiary, Coincheck, Inc., rather than a securities issuance, insider transaction, acquisition, or financing event. The July 2, 2026 Form 6-K provides preliminary key performance indicators through June 30, 2026, covering exchange trading volume, marketplace trading volume, customer assets, and verified accounts for the prior 12 months. For June 2026, Coincheck reported exchange trading volume of ¥197.447 billion, up from ¥129.229 billion in May 2026. Marketplace trading volume also rose month over month, increasing to ¥20.709 billion from ¥16.790 billion in May. Despite the rebound in trading activity, customer assets fell to ¥631.633 billion at the end of June from ¥773.103 billion at the end of May, the lowest figure shown in the 12-month table. Verified accounts increased sharply in June to 2,624,858, compared with 2,547,147 at the end of May, a gain of 77,711 accounts in one month. Coincheck added an explanatory note that, beginning in June 2026, a substantial number of new verified accounts may come from “crypto-as-a-service” relationships with third parties. Those third parties may receive a significant portion of the fee revenue generated by such accounts, an important qualification for investors evaluating whether account growth will translate proportionally into Coincheck revenue. The longer 12-month data show a mixed operating picture. Exchange trading volume was ¥388.372 billion in July 2025, peaked within the disclosed period at ¥461.342 billion in October 2025, then generally declined into 2026 before rebounding in June. Marketplace trading volume followed a similar downward trend, moving from ¥39.165 billion in July 2025 to ¥20.709 billion in June 2026. Customer assets decreased from ¥1.240 trillion in July 2025 to ¥631.633 billion in June 2026, while verified accounts rose steadily from 2,378,672 to 2,624,858 over the same period. Coincheck defined exchange trading volume as the value of transactions completed on its exchange platform, where buyers and sellers transact directly and Coincheck generally charges no fee. Marketplace trading volume reflects transactions on Coincheck’s marketplace platform, which the company noted has historically been the primary source of total revenue. Customer assets include cryptocurrencies held for customers plus customer fiat deposits, but exclude NFTs. The filing does not report any insider buying or selling, stock option exercise, share issuance, share count change, transaction code, price, or ownership change. Its significance is operational: it gives investors a current view of trading activity, customer balances, and account growth at Coincheck, while emphasizing that the figures are preliminary, unaudited, subject to immaterial updates, and should not be extrapolated to future periods.
