The company was formed as a spin-off of Agilent Technologies, which inherited and rebranded the test and measurement product lines developed and produced, from the late 1930s to the turn of the millennium, by Hewlett-Packard. Its name is a combination of key- and -sight. Satish Dhanasekaran took over as Keysight's CEO in 2022.
